A Day of Keeping Tampa Bay Comfortable – Life as an HVAC Tech

Early Morning Start

My day begins at 6 AM when I check my service schedule for the day. After grabbing my morning coffee, I ensure my service van is fully stocked with common HVAC components and diagnostic tools. Today’s route takes me through Carrollwood and Westchase, with several routine maintenance calls and one emergency service request.

First Stop – Preventive Maintenance

By 8 AM, I’m at my first appointment in Carrollwood, performing a routine AC system check. Florida’s heat means air conditioners work overtime, so these maintenance visits are crucial. I:
– Check refrigerant levels
– Clean or replace air filters
– Inspect electrical connections
– Clean condensate drains
– Test thermostat function

Midday Emergency

Around noon, I receive a call about a failing furnace in Wesley Chapel. Even in Florida, we get those chilly nights when heating is essential. I diagnose the issue, replace a faulty ignitor, and get the system running properly again.

Afternoon Education

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping homeowners understand their HVAC systems. During an AC service call in Town ‘n’ Country, I spend time explaining maintenance tips and energy-saving practices to a new homeowner.

End of Day

As the sun sets over Tampa Bay, I complete my final service call in Lutz. Before heading back, I restock my van and complete my service reports. It’s satisfying knowing I’ve helped keep our community comfortable through another Florida day.

Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to help our neighbors maintain their indoor comfort, and that’s what makes this work so rewarding.
