Rise and Shine: The Life of an HVAC Technician
As the sun rises over Cape Coral, my day at J&D Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc begins. I’m John, a seasoned HVAC technician, and I’m here to take you through a typical day in my life as we keep Southwest Florida comfortable.
6:00 AM: Starting the Day
My alarm goes off, and I’m up before the heat sets in. After a quick breakfast, I check the weather forecast – it’s going to be another scorcher in Fort Myers!
7:30 AM: First Call – AC Repair in Bonita Springs
I arrive at our first job site in Bonita Springs. The homeowner’s AC unit isn’t cooling properly. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I explain the situation to the customer and get to work on the repair.
10:00 AM: HVAC Installation in North Fort Myers
Next up is a new HVAC installation in North Fort Myers. The homeowners have opted for an energy-efficient system that will keep them cool while saving on utility bills. It’s a big job, but our team works efficiently to get it done.
1:00 PM: Lunch Break
I take a quick break to refuel and hydrate. The Florida heat can be unforgiving, especially when working with furnaces and air conditioners all day!
2:00 PM: Heating Service in Estero
Although it’s not common in our area, some days we do get calls for heating services. Today, I’m off to Estero to perform maintenance on a furnace to ensure it’s ready for those rare chilly nights.
4:00 PM: Ductless HVAC Consultation in Villas
My last appointment of the day is a consultation for a ductless HVAC system in Villas. I explain the benefits of these systems, particularly for homes without existing ductwork.
6:00 PM: Wrapping Up
Back at the J&D office, I complete my paperwork and prepare for tomorrow. Another satisfying day of keeping Southwest Florida comfortable comes to an end.
